Job Description

WorkSource has been working with a primarily military contracting Machine Shop in the North Kansas City area for a few years. They develop and sell very intricate and cool pieces. Frames for Destroyer class naval ship engines etc. We are looking for a Burn Table Operator. This is not a machine operator, even a CNC operator position. The ideal candidate for this position has experience reading blueprints, machine operation, plasma cutting and basic geometry.
 
6:00a-4:30p M-Th with optional OT
 
Duties of Operator
  • Prepare and operate CNC burn machines to perform task using torches ad plasma cutting operations.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Inspect and verify material of finished products, identify parts to be used in later process and compare them with drawing requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
Requirements of Operator
  • Experience as a CNC burn table operator
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents/drawings
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • Skill in operating CNC burn table machinery and tooling
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
