   We're looking for a skilled road warrior, welding pro, who is  lookiing to make  solid money.


The Certified Welding Technician will perform welding repair and documentation on heavy equipment in the field at our client s location. The technician will, at all times, be quality focused working with a high level of precision while following all welding procedures. The technician will consistently demonstrate professionalism, independence and honesty and be committed to the highest quality standards.


  • Properly execute welding procedures under close supervision of a CWI.

  • Read and interpret blueprints for a welding project.

  • Power wash pump trucks as needed.

  • Use grinders and scrapers to remove rough spots and marks from work pieces to ensure smooth surface.

  • Clean workpieces using chemical solutions to remove impurities such as slag, rust, and grease.

  • Connect hand torches to fuel gas cylinders or electric power source.

  • Activate electric generators for welding by starting gasoline engine.

  • Document details of welding repairs in writing and with photos and accurately complete repair reports in the company s proprietary software.

  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers and build relationships to foster loyalty and long-term commitment to US Boom Inspection.

  • Manage tools and equipment including welding leads, power cords, grinders, hand tools, and fuel for welder and compressor.

  • Clean and return tool to their proper location and maintain tool inventory by accounting for each tool prior to leaving the job site.

  • Maintain a tool purchase/needs list.

  • Oversee the scheduled maintenance of welding and fitting equipment to ensure they are operational.

  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment for efficient work operations

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing in compliance with safety protocols

  • Perform preventative maintenance of welding equipment by lubricating and fixing worn parts

  • Communicate technical issues to the Field Service Manager, owner, clients, manufacturer, or third parties.

  • Communicate with co-workers, manufacturers, vendors as needed to keep work moving forward efficiently.

  • Stay current on the American Welding Society (AWS) codes, techniques and processes.

  • Generate and process time sheets, billing reports, and inspection reports in a thorough manner, complying with all applicable deadlines.

  • Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat and proprietary software.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and work toward the end goal in a collaborative way.

  • Assist in the development of documentation procedures.

  • Perform work in all weather conditions.

  • Demonstrated use of following processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, OFC, CAC-A, OLC).

  • Field service experience 3 to 5 years (SMAW).

  • ASNT level 2 (MT), not required upon hire.

  • Proof of past certifications (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW).

  • Valid class C driver s license--CDL a plus.

  • Proficient in English

  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.

  • Must be willing to travel to client locations across the US. Working 18 days on and 10 days off or similar (some flexibility available).

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Physical strength and stamina to climb, lift, carry and perform other physically demanding tasks.

  • Knowledge of welding procedures, tools, and equipment.

  • Ability to take direction and coaching.
