Job Description

WorkSource has  Maintenance opportunities and apprentice maintenance opportunities in Burlington. 
Maintenance for days or nights 12 hour shift 2 week rotating schedule 5a-5p OR 5: 00 PM – 5: 00 AM
Example schedule:

Week 1:   Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat 

Week 2 Sun, Wed, Thursday

JOB TITLE:    Maintenance Mechanic

KEY RESULTS AREAS 
  •   Assures the building and machines are functional and operational in such   manner as to preserve product integrity.
  •   Ensure the Maintenance Foreman maintains a general overview of   areas and its happenings.
  •   To fill out a “ DAILY WORK SHEET” and make “ clear” and “ detailed” notes   on it. 
  • Pay attention to areas for cleanliness of floors, borders, trash, pallets. ]
  • Or   insect or rodent activity to ensure that the building is maintained in a clean orderly fashion.
  • Take action to correct mechanical problems or unsafe conditions.
  • Do scheduled preventative maintenance each week and assigned Work Orders.
  • Assist in the receiving, inspection and proper storage of Maintenance   supplies.
  • Help control inventory by leaving note when the last item is used, or in   the case of frequently used items when we have one left.
  Maintenance Mechanic    The following items shall be closely monitored and any noticed   irregularities should be immediately assigned action. (Discussed with Maintenance Foreman to come to a solution, repaired, or put on week end repair list)        
  • Machine operations and concerns of operators       
  • Oil leaks       
  • Unusual noises or odors from machines.       
  • Items from Maintenance storage being either dirty or out of place.       
  • Maintenance items from parts shelves left in production or   production storage areas.       
  • Safety procedures.      
  • Signs of pest infestation.   
  • Make a complete tour of plant during shift   resolve or note issues.   
  • When problem solving, make use of plant experience, obtain information from all possible sources before setting a course of action.    
  • Perform any other duties that superior may assign.   
  • Keeps appropriate people informed of actions or events that affect departmental operations to maximize efficiency and productivity.    
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to the Maintenance Foreman.   
  • Discusses potential problems, programs, and policies with the Maintenance Foreman.   
  • Communicate openly with fellow employees 

JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation and Experience  High school diploma and at least 2   years’ experience   working as facility. Mechanical or electrical maintenance. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
  1. Knowledge of basic mechanics.   2.   Knowledge of basic electricity.   3.   Knowledge of pneumatics or hydraulics.   4.   Skill of welding.
